The North Pole

One of our main reasons for going to Fairbanks was to go to the North Pole, a suburb of Fairbanks.  After a lunch at a delicious spot called The Cookie Jar, we went in search of the North Pole.
We found all of the streetlights to be in the shape of candy canes.

Here it is!  Santa's house!  Now, we did arrive on a Sunday, and we learned Santa doesn't work on Sundays.  That's okay because my kids said he needed a break to go to church.

Santa's reindeer were also on sight, but we didn't spot Rudolph.

He looks like a little elf.

Look at that...St. Nicholas Dr.

Now, ironically, the warmest day of our vacation was this day, the day we went the furthest north and visited North Pole.  It got up to 76 degrees at North Pole, and the kids were excited to know that Santa could even wear shorts some in the summer  :)

Mom and Dad, this is for you.  My family visited college campuses anytime we traveled, and by my teen years, I had seen just about everything in New England. So, here's the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus  :)
