Another Day on Tybee Island

Here are a few more random pictures from Tybee. Many of these were taken by my sister-in-law, Erika.

Just another day at the beach

Madison actually took this picture. I decided to take Luke and Madison out each individually on a "special date" to spend some time with them. Unfortunately, both trips involved over two hours at the Sprint store, as my new cell phone died after we got to the beach. However, I did get to do something fun with each of them. I didn't get pictures with Luke, as I had no phone, and he didn't want me to take any. Luke and I went to feed alligators, and he loved it. We ended our date with ice cream. Madison and I went to downtown Savannah in search of postcards. We had lunch out, and then we ended our date with ice cream (love that trend). Madison snapped this picture was we were parking to get ice cream.

Madison was also delighted it was raining, and she took this picture of the rain, from the car.

She wanted a "girl" picture, so I took this of us before we got ice cream.

An Evening at the Pier

Monday evening, we walked down to one of the piers after dinner. Jason wanted to go fishing and thought Luke would enjoy that. The rest of us tagged along to check things out. A storm was brewing, making it very windy, but the kids had fun nonetheless. This particular small pier was near some homes, and it had a very small beach area, perfect for the kids to play on.

Madison and Kait really had a blast together. These two couldn't stop giggling the whole time we were there.

I can't help but laugh everytime I look at this picture. The amount of sand on Luke is insane.

Madison really enjoyed the evening at the pier.

While stormy, it turned out to be a beautiful evening. Jason didn't catch anything on this evening, but the trip to the pier was well worth it.

The Beach @ Tybee Island

When it wasn't raining, we spent a lot of time at the beach. The jellyfish were bad in the afternoon, so we spent the mornings at the beach.

The boys enjoyed playing together.

The girls were inseparable.

We all think Madison and Kaitlann look a lot alike.

These girls, ages 7 (Mackenzie), 6 (Madison), and 5 (Kaitlann) so enjoyed playing together. They had a wonderful time. It was really good for Madison who hasn't made friends and is really missing her friends from Yuma.

Baby Knox. We hadn't met him yet. He just turned one a couple of weeks ago. The boys LOVED him.

Alex especially enjoyed eating while at the beach.

Knox followed the example of his cousin and ate a lot too.

They had so much fun riding the boogie boards. I think a boogie board purchase is in our future.

Beach Vacation-Part 1

The kids and I just got back from a trip to the beach. We joined Edward's mom, stepdad, brother, and his family at Tybee Island, Georgia for a few days. I have a ton of pictures, so here's the start.

We started our trip Saturday morning by stopping for lunch at Friendly's. Now, if you are from the Northeast, you have probably heard of this great ice cream place. There aren't many in the South, but there's one off of I-95. The kids had never been, and it was perfect for kids, just as I remembered from growing up. We always ate at Friendly"s when going to and from Maine.

So, the kids' meals all come with a drink, meal (entree and side), and a delicious ice cream sundae of your choosing. The kids started with milk, grilled cheese (Luke), mac and cheese (Madison), and a hotdog/mac and cheese combo (Alex).

The kids were so excited about their ice cream. They picked out what they wanted from the menu and waited for it to arrive.

Alex got this sundae, vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, M & M's, and chocolate chips. Madison got the "Monster" with mint chocolate chip ice cream and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on it.
Luke opted for the double cone with mint chocolate chip and cookie dough ice cream. He's not sure if he can eat it.

I got an old favorite and VERY hard to find outside of the Northeast, Black Raspberry. The kids thought the purple ice cream was cool, and I'm not so sure that it's a good thing they loved how it tasted too.

The kids ate EVERY DROP OF THEIR ICE CREAM.

Love Friendly's. New favorite kids' spot, and it's 40 min from our house. Plus, kids get their whole meal, ice cream included, for $1.99 on Wednesdays. We stopped again today, and we'll have to go back on Wednesdays.
