When we bought our house, we knew there were some things we wanted to do to it right away. As I have mentioned, while only four years old, it had been empty for quite awhile, and it was just in rough shape. We've come a long way, and it's finally starting to look as we want it. Pictures of the rooms to come. One project we wanted to do right away was put in a patio. We had a covered back porch, but it wasn't enough to put a table onto. I did purchase lounge chairs for it, and they are perfect. So, the patio has been a work in progress for awhile, and it's finally finished!
The before shot...this was taken from our back porch. You can see the color of the porch concrete is a basic concrete. The patio is framed out. I should have taken a picture before this when there was grass there, but I forgot and didn't get one until they'd already started. The porch stairs came down into the grass, and we wanted to put a patio there at the base of the stairs, wrapping around the porch.

Here's the finished covered porch. They were able to match the porch color to the concrete color we picked out. It's a process called Stamping.

New patio area...ok, so the table was a mess too. This was not our first pick of table. In fact, it wasn't our second. Everyone is sold out for the summer. We ordered a beautiful set, only for it to come all warped in the middle, as something heavy had been put on it. Of course, to return it, it's out of stock online and in store. So, we're at our about sixth choice for a table, but thanks, Sears, for having something in stock! Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Wal-Mart, and Bed Bath and Beyond...it's still summer! People like patio tables.

Another view from the bottom of the porch stairs. I might have to make a new grill purchase too, not what we want at all. Our grill, which of course was on the second load, isn't working well, and it sounds like gas is leaking even when turned off. To be continued on that.
Looks great! Can't wait to see it in person!
ReplyDeleteoh, to have a house to work on! I really do miss that- as weird as it sounds. It looks good
ReplyDeleteWe have no patio furniture either for the same reasons. Oh well. Haha.
