SNOW!!!

The kids had their first real snowfall EVER today at their own house.  It was a great day.  Yesterday, we received five hours of freezing rain before it turned to snow, and we awakened to a winter wonderland.  They are off school tomorrow, so we will be able to enjoy the snow more.

 The driveway had just enough of a hill to it for sledding.

American Girl

Madison asked I take some pictures of her dolls. She loves playing with them.

She has been asking Edward to make a stable for her horse. The two of them started the project this past weekend. They have one more coat of paint until it is done. She painted it pink.

Tiger Hats

My parents got all of the grandkids Clemson Tiger hats for Christmas. With all three of their kids as Clemson grads who all married Clemson grads, you could say our family LOVES the Tigers! It has finally been cold enough for the kids to wear their hats to school.

Madison even gets some flack at school for her hat. She has a Wolfpack grad for a teacher, and they love to tease each other.

This was yesterday.  Her teacher is so sweet that she texted me these photos after school. She loves her teacher so much!

Skate Night

The kids' school has a skate night each month. The kids love going and over the last couple of years, they have all become very good skaters. There are not many four-year-olds skating, much less on rollerblades! Skate Night took place last week, and we were the third family to arrive (can we say excited??).

One afternoon, Edward, the kids, and I stopped in at the mall. Luke spotted this...

Then, Madison had to try.

One afternoon, Edward had to work, but the kids and I stayed with my parents. We went out to lunch for some seafood and then hiked around Carolina Beach State Park, one of our favorite spots.

If you know Luke, it should be no surprised he was hauling around a log.

It was a beautiful day, and the tide was really low.

I could mention that on the way back, we found out that my brother and his family were also at Carolina Beach taking a walk. We knew they were on the same trail, so we figured we would pass them, but we never did. Knowing there are places to take other trails, we figured we'd see them somewhere, but back at the car, we saw no sign of them. A quick text to my brother told us that they were a "bit turned around" but fine.  As we drove out of the state park, we came upon them by the entrance, quite a long way off the trail!  Nice for an intelligence officer...but I won't bring that up  :)
