Pool Time in Ellicott City

Wednesday, I took the kids, along with Wes, to visit my college roommate, Jenn, and her family in Maryland.  Jenn and her husband are currently building a house, and since their townhouse sold quickly, they are staying with her mom.  I've now known Jenn for 17 years (wow), and I've visited them so much. They are like family to me, so it was great to visit. The kids remember staying/visiting with them two years ago when Edward was also deployed.  We had a beautiful day to sit by their pool and relax.  All of the kids had so much fun.

Madison really enjoyed playing with Audrey, who turned two in May.

All of my kids LOVED the diving board.  Alex was so excited there was not a swim test to take before using the diving board.  He can swim pretty well, especially for a four-year-old, but most pools won't let him even take a swim test because he's little.  He's been taking lessons for awhile and can do freestyle well for his age.  Let's just say the diving board and swimming all day was NOT a problem!
 Madison, working on her dives

Alex, again!  He did more backflips than anything.

 Audrey, ready for a snack

I finally convinced Wes to eat some chips. After he saw orange chips were being served, he really got into them.

 Madison loved Audrey's chair

It looks like they are on a date.

He wasn't too excited about getting IN the water, just enjoyed sitting BY the water.

These two pals really enjoyed each other. They are only a few months apart.

 More food!

Jenn said that before this day, Audrey would not let go of anyone in the pool to swim on her own with her floaties...bring on several independent kids, and Audrey now enjoys swimming on her own. Jenn said she's really independent, so it just took some older kids for her to see  :)

Madison finally convinced him to float around in the water...he had to have the rubber duck too!

 Yea!  On her own!

 Pals

Back at the diving board...Foster enjoyed the day too, and I'm sure he was exhausted after retrieving MANY balls out of the pool.

Thanks Jenn for a great day!!!  It was awesome to see you, Audrey, and your mom.  Hopefully, we'll see each other soon again.
