We left Nana and Pop's house on Sunday to head to St. Augustine Beach, Florida. We had a 500-mile drive that day just to our overnight hotel on our trip. As we drove through South Carolina, we stopped at The Beacon for lunch, a local favorite spot. It's definitely a "dive" sort of spot, but I'd been there before during college and even my first year teaching (we had a field trip that stopped there for lunch).

The kids said they enjoyed it very much. They thought it was funny to have the orders yelled out to the kitchen staff.
