The Von Trapp Family from the 'Sound of Music' settled on Stowe, Vermont when they moved to the United States. In preparation for our trip, we watched the 'Sound of Music' on Thanksgiving. One of our first stops in Stowe was their lodge, which is a large hotel. It is still owned by the family, and we enjoyed walking around inside looking at the family photos. There were 10 children in all, and some are still alive.

This is the lodge they built. In addition to this part of the hotel, there are a lot of townhome style lodges available all around the property.
I was able to use the panoramic feature on my phone to get this one :)
