Yard work

Our back fence has had trouble growing grass since we moved here. I have worked and worked on it, but no grass will continue to grow. Even healthy sod would eventually die out. So, we decided to put a garden in along the fence. It was a lot of work, but I am happy with the outcome.
This is what it looked like all along the fence line.

My "helpers" played chess instead.

Finally finished!

It looks so much cleaner.

Girls' Night Out!

Madison and I had a night out to find a dress for the Daddy-Daughter dance. We had a great time shopping and ended up at her pick for dinner, Red Robin.

Madison found two potential dresses for the dance. I let her keep both because her favorite, the black and white one was quite a find! She tried on about everything in her size and loved this dress. At checkout, it came out to $5.00, down from $60!! She is a true bargain hunter in the making.
This was my favorite, and she later decided she loved it too. This turned into the too dress pick for the dance.

Fun on the Boat

We have really been enjoying our boat. The water is finally warm enough to be in it, so we have our tubes and kneeboarding out and ready for use.

Baseball

Luke played his first season of coach pitch baseball this year. He moved up from t-ball and enjoyed it much more. His coach wasn't the best, but the team survived. Luke enjoyed playing fist base the best, he said. He looked great at catcher too, but he said he didn't like that as much. We will see where he ends up as he grows up.
Luke played on the Rangers at Fort Bragg.

He had several hits this season including a triple. He is looking forward to playing again next spring.

Finishing up at Preschool

Alex still had a couple days of preschool after graduation. They finished up with water day and a picnic. He has had the greatest class! There were nine of them, and they finished the year with just eight, as one moved. These kids are so close to each other! They will miss each other as they go to three different elementary schools in NC and one to Kansas.

Alex's class: Rachel, Giselle , Alex, Tyler, AJ, Micab, and Claire. Alex and Claire will go to school and even ride the bus together next year! They are also the only two to have gone all three years at this preschool from his class.
